The first-ever London Climate Action Week (LCAW) in 2019 brought together London’s sustainability and climate community to accelerate the conversation around innovative new solutions to achieve net-zero.
While 2020 is an important year for climate change, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has created many new challenges, including the postponement of COP26.
Due to COVID-19, London Climate Action Week 2020 will take place in two instalments across the year.
London Climate Action Week Digital, taking place during 1-3 July, will recognise the need to respond, inform and shape policy discussions around COVID-19 and the climate emergency. These convening events will act as stepping-stones for the rescheduled COP26 in 2021.
London Climate Action Week 2020 in November will have a broader focus that is more aligned with the original LCAW intent, aiming to support the climate dialogue ahead of COP26. We are planning on this having a predominantly digital configuration, using a range of formats that will allow for a wider section of London’s clusters to participate, and encourage citizen and community engagement.
