Give the climate crisis the bat at London Climate Action Week

Battersea Park | 29 June, 3pm - 5:30pm

LCAW Softball Tournament 2023

London Climate Action Week is a celebration of London’s leadership on climate change so we thought it fitting to bring together as many climate stakeholders as possible in a fun, active, interactive and inclusive event that reconnects us with nature in London’s beautiful Battersea Park.

Whether you are a local authority, an NGO, a climate startup or a corporation, we’d love you to enter a team to play in London Climate Action Week’s inaugural softball tournament.

We plan to organise some drinks and food after the tournament final in a nearby venue.

What you need to know

  • We are looking for a minimum of 10 teams and no prior experience of playing softball is necessary – although if you want to win the tournament then we suggest you start practising.
  • Each team will play 3 to 4 short games of 15 minutes and then the winners from the two groups will play each other in the final.
  • A team requires 9 players, so if you need to join up with another organisation or freelancers to make a full team, then that’s totally OK. Please bring your own bat and softball with you.
  • If members of your team have disabilities, then they can nominate a colleague to run or hit the ball for them.
  • Players should wear trainers and sports attire.
  • The winning team will receive a LCAW 2023 Softball Trophy not to mention untold kudos.

If you have any questions, please email rcooper@climateaction.org. We will come back to you within a week to confirm how many entries we have received and next steps.
