About this event

This session explores how locally driven innovation and subnational action are accelerating Africa’s green transition. As the continent’s largest economic hub, Lagos is pioneering scalable climate solutions that bridge policy, finance, and implementation—offering a blueprint for other cities and regions. The dialogue will highlight subnational leadership, private sector innovation, and DFI collaboration in unlocking climate finance for Africa’s urban systems, mobility, clean energy access, and adaptation efforts. Key examples will include: Lagos’ State-Determined Contributions (SDCs) as a pathway for subnational climate finance. Innovative blended finance and carbon-backed instruments that de-risk city-led projects. Partnership models between government, DFIs, and private investors that enable bankable climate infrastructure. The session aims to inspire cross-sector collaboration and mobilize investments that translate African ambition into measurable, scalable climate impact.
