This roundtable will bring together key figures in the field to explore regenerative livestock farming as an effective low-carbon land use model. The session will feature Mariama Vendramini, who will introduce the topic and launch the Arandu Institute, a new organization focused on promoting low-carbon land use models; Luis Fernando Laranja, who will share insights on regenerative livestock practices; Laurent Micol, who will clarify how carbon credit mechanisms can be applied to livestock farming; Gustavo Luz, who will discuss innovative financial instruments to support scalability in the sector; Rodger Douglas, who will present a model that relies on carbon credit generation to promote the adoption of Silvopastoral Systems; Caio Zini, who will bring an exemplary case of Forest Conservation based on REDD+; and Michael Grunwald, who will present, for the first time in Brazil, a vision on Agri-Food systems that composes a landmark book recently launched in the USA. Together, the participants will address how techniques for recovering degraded pastures, forest restoration and conservation, and financial innovations can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase biodiversity, boost food supply, and promote economic resilience. The event will highlight the importance of collaborative and science-based approaches for advancing sustainable livestock farming and climate solutions associated with land use.
