Mr. Vincent Chauvet is the Mayor of Autun, a sub-prefecture in the Saône-et-Loire department, located in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of east-central France. He has been a member of the European Committee of the Regions since 2020 and currently serves as Vice-President of the French delegation. In addition to his regional responsibilities, he is President of the Democratic Movement (MoDem) in Saône-et-Loire and President of the European Federation of Napoleonic Cities.
Politically active from the age of 16, Mr. Chauvet has been involved in centrist politics, serving in leadership roles within the Democratic Movement (MoDem) and Young Democrats for Europe. He co-founded the first-ever European Citizens’ Initiative ‘One Single Tariff’, which contributed to the abolition of EU roaming fees. His early career included roles as a literary critic for La Tribune and as a guide at the Napoleon Museum. He also taught European affairs at New York University before working in the digital sector in Paris and Brussels.
