Tony Burdon
Make My Money Matter
Tony Burdon has been CEO of Make My Money Matter from its launch in 2020, leading a public campaign to ensure the finance in our pensions and banks tackles the climate emergency and not causes it. He has worked in humanitarian and international development areas for much of his life, with over fifteen years in Africa and Asia, including Malawi, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda during the genocide, Nigeria, Iraq and Nepal. While in Oxfam he was on the board of the successful Jubilee 2000 Debt Relief campaign. He then worked in the UK Treasury, the Commission for Africa, and the Department for International Development, leading the government’s economic and private sector work in Nepal and Nigeria, and then as a senior civil servant, leading the Economic, Private Sector, and International Financial Institutions Departments. A key area has been the mobilisation of private sector investment into developing countries, with a focus on achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and in tackling the climate emergency.



Tony Rooke
GFANZ
Dr Tony Rooke is Executive Director and Head of Transition Planning at GFANZ. He is GFANZ’s technical lead across work in corporate transition, co-ordinating insight and guidance with financial institutions and civil society representatives, ensuring that financial institutions can understand the scale and timing that specific sectors need for transition finance, including aviation, steel, and oil and gas.
Prior to GFANZ, Tony was Senior Director for Transition Risk at WTW, where he led net-zero transition, TCFD and decarbonisation strategy advisory, and helped formulate the principles and methodology for the transition plan accreditation scheme: Climate Transition Pathways.
Tony has over 25 years of global experience in climate change, sustainability, strategy, advisory and programme delivery. Prior to WTW, he was global Director for Disclosure at CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) responsible for defining, delivering and assessing climate disclosures from over half of the world’s companies by market capitalisation, and thousands of cities globally. He has led sustainability consulting practices, and conceived and led an award winning environmental programme at Logica.



Valentijn van Nieuwenhuijzen
NN Investment Partners
Valentijn is Chief Investment Officer of NN Investment Partners and chairman of the Management Team Investments (MTI)
Valentijn has over 18 years of experience working in financial markets. Valentijn is also chair of NNIP’s Tactical Asset Allocation committee and the firm’s key spokesperson on the macro and market outlook. Therefore, he appears frequently at client events, seminars and in financial news media like CNN, CNBC, RTLZ, NOS, BNR, Bloomberg and Reuters or journals like the FT, FD, IPE, and other newswires and social media channels.



Vishal Hindocha, CFA
MFS Investment Management
Vishal Hindocha, CFA, is senior managing director and global head of sustainability strategy for MFS Investment Management® (MFS®). In this role, he works with clients and regulators globally to develop solutions and provide insights on sustainable investment trends and best practices. He is focused on ensuring that sustainability is integrated across investment, client and corporate pillars.
Vishal joined MFS in 2016 as a director on the Client Relations and Consultant Relations teams and assumed his current role in 2021. He previously served as a senior investment consultant and team leader at Willis Towers Watson for more than nine years.
Vishal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from University College London. He is a CFA charterholder and also holds CFA Society UK’s Certificate in ESG Investing and is a member of the Enterprise Advisor Network. He also holds the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s Certificate in Sustainable Business.



Will Oulton
First Sentier Investors
Will Oulton is the Global Head, Responsible Investment at First Sentier Investors (FSI) based in the UK and is responsible for defining and delivering FSI’s responsible investment and stewardship strategy globally. In this role he is tasked with advancing FSI’s understanding of how ESG Factors impact long term investment value. He is also responsible for developing FSI’s thought leadership programs and managing the RI Governance structure for the business. He is also the Chair of the First Sentier MUFG Sustainable Investment Institute, which was launched in May 2021.
Previous to this he was the Head of Responsible Investment for Mercer Investments across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, advising institutional asset owners on environmental, social and corporate governance matters. He has over 20 years of experience working in sustainable and responsible investment. Before joining Mercer, Will was the Director of Responsible Investment at FTSE Group, where he led the development of FTSE’s global sustainability indices and services.
In December 2015 he was appointed Chairman of the European Sustainable Investment Forum (Eurosif). He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an Honorary Associate Professor at Nottingham University Business School’s International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, Expert Panel Member of the Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability program and sits on a number of investment industry advisory boards and committees. More recently, he became a Trustee Director on the board of the UK’s Marine Conservation Society.
