Ani Dasgupta is President and CEO of World Resources Institute, where he works to advance the institute’s global vision to improve the lives of all people and ensure that nature can thrive. A widely recognized leader in the areas of sustainable cities, urban design and poverty alleviation, he developed his expertise in positions ranging from nonprofits in India to the World Bank, where he developed the Bank’s first Knowledge strategy. He took the helm at WRI after seven years as Global Director of WRI’s Ross Center for Sustainable Cities.

Daniel Helldén

Daniel Helldén was born in 1965. He has a PhD in Political Sciences, and a long experience as an elected official representing the Green Party. Before becoming a member of the Stockholm City Council in 2011 he was engages in the politics of Gnesta municipality and the Regional Council of Sörmland. In 2011 he was elected Opposition Vice Mayor by the Stockholm City Council. After the general elections of 2014, the City Council elected Daniel Helldén Vice Mayor for Traffic. After the elections of 2018, the City Council re-elected him to the position.

David was Assistant Director of Sidaction, a major French organisation raising awareness and collecting charitable funds for AIDS. After becoming a journalist and Development Director of Alternatives Economiques, David entered the French Green Party (EELV) in 2002. He was elected for the first time in 2014 into the Council of Paris and became the President of the Ecologist Party of Paris. David is now Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of the transformation of the public space, transportation, mobilities and of the management of roads.

Karen was appointed as Secretary General of Polis in September 2014, after having been the network’s Research Director for 8 years. Prior to joining POLIS in 2004, she was Network Manager at ACCESS-EUROCITIES for a New Mobility Culture and project manager at Langzaam Verkeer, a Belgian centre for mobility management. Since 1998, she has been involved in urban mobility networking, innovation and policy activities as well as a wide range of European urban transport research projects. Miguel has experience as an engineer and transport planner and led the development of on-demand transport initiatives, Intelligent Transport Systems projects and was assistant to the Deputy Secretary of State and Environment of the XXI constitutional government until he was elected to a councillor of Municipality of Lisboa, where he participated actively in the development of sectorial regulation legislation, including innovative transport solutions and technical support for the Ministry of the Environment regarding its role as Transport Authority.
He oversees the departments of Mobility, Economy and Innovation, and municipal BUS and Trams and Mobility Companies. He also oversees the departments of Police, Fire, and Emergency Management.
