With expertise in program and organizational design, change management, building adaptive systems-based solutions, and with a decade of executive leadership and managing boards, Aaron seeks to cultivate transformation and accelerate progress towards a climate safe future. Aaron previously served as Executive Director of The Experiment in International Living, Vice President for Innovation and Advancement at World Learning, as Executive Director at The Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute and Director of Programs for the Catalina Island Conservancy. Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa is UNDP Assistant Administrator, and Director, Regional Bureau for Africa at the rank of Assistant Secretary General. She leads over 4000 staff implementing a $1.2 billion annual development programme in 46 African countries. She is deeply passionate about equality, inclusion, reshaping narratives on Africa, mobilizing for youth entrepreneurs and the dignity of Africa’s people. Her vision “Africa’s Promise: The UNDP Renewed Strategic Offer in Africa” employs an opportunity lens to development practice in Africa. She established the Africa Influencers for Development (AI4D) to ensure that Africa’s Money works for Africa’s Development; the Africa Young Women Leaders Initiative; Africa Innovates Magazine; and the Africa Borderlands Centre. She leads UNDP Africa socioeconomic response and recovery from COVID 19 and (Co) Chairs the UN Africa Regional Collaborative Platform which oversees implementation of the Secretary General’s regional UN reform. She spent 10 years as UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ethiopia, Uganda, and Lesotho. As Chief (Africa) at UN OCHA, she led response to natural disasters, emergencies and transitions to recovery. Before the UN, Ms. Eziakonwa worked for “Initiatives of Change” serving as international coordinator of its’ “Creators of Peace – Women’s Initiative”. Alexandra-Maria Bocşe (born 1987) completed a PhD in Politics and International Studies at University of Cambridge (award ceremony in 2017), at the top of her class. She was the beneficiary of an academic excellence scholarship during her PhD by Trinity College Cambridge. In 2011, she completed an MPhil in International Relations at the same institution, Cambridge, with a Distinction in a dissertation on international environmental politics. Previously, she graduated from her BA in Political Science at the University of Bucharest, Department of Political Science (Romanian section) as a Valedictorian.
In 2016, Alexandra-Maria Bocșe joined the Department of International Relations at London School of Economics and for the next four year continued here her research and teaching on European and International Energy, Environmental and Climate Affairs. In 2015-2016, she was a Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University, through a Fulbright-Schuman Award. Here she worked especially on transatlantic energy and environmental relations. Previously she was a doctoral researcher and coordinator of the European Centre at the Department of Politics and International Studies, University of Cambridge, and an Associate Editor at the Cambridge Review of International Affairs. Overall, Alexandra-Maria Bocșe has over seven years of experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels European Politics, Global Energy and Environmental Politics, and International Affairs at University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, and King’s College London. Since 2011, she also worked in analysis/advisory roles or provided advice to the European Union, governments of EU member states and intergovernmental organizations, in recent years particularly on energy and environmental politics and economics.
Her research and analysis portfolio includes various policy and academic publications in leading journals in the fields of climate and energy (Climate Policy, International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics and Energy Research and Social Science) or International Relations (Geopolitics, European Security, etc.). Alexandra also single authored a book on international energy and environmental policy networks to be published by Palgrave Macmillan in autumn 2020.

Alexandre Meira da Rosa is Chief Strategy Officer for IDB Invest. As CSO, he leads the development and implementation of the institution’s corporate strategy and drives high-priority initiatives with upstream interventions. Managing a team of cross-functional experts in development effectiveness, impact evaluation, business strategic planning, environmental and social safeguards, climate change, sustainability, gender, and public-private partnerships he advances the strategic roadmap of the organization in line with its future vision. He is also a member of the Executive Leadership team and advisor to the CEO.
Alexandre’s more than two decades of leadership experience in public and private sectors include six years as Vice President of Countries at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) where he was responsible for defining, coordinating, and supervising IDB’s operational programs and country strategies, managing concessional resources, and strengthening cooperation with the civil society.
Prior to his tenure as Vice President, he was Manager of the Infrastructure and Energy Sector at IDB for four years. Under his direction, this sector became IDB’s most important portfolio based in volume. Alexandre led a team of 190 professionals in 26 countries and was responsible for structuring and ratifying approvals while redefining the Bank’s strategies in the Energy, Transportation, Agriculture, Tourism, Natural Disasters, Water and Sanitation, and Climate Change sectors.
Before joining the IDB, he was Deputy Minister and Economic Advisor to Brazil’s Minister of Planning. Among other functions related to Brazil’s economic policy, he supervised investments with international financing at three government levels and oversaw the national policy related to multilateral banks. He also served as Non-Executive Director at large finance and energy sector companies in Brazil.
Alexandre holds a law degree from the Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais and a graduate Diploma in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. He has a master’s degree in Economics from the New School for Social Research in New York and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).


Allyson Anderson Book
Allyson Anderson Book is the Chief Sustainability Officer at Baker Hughes. In this role she oversees Baker Hughes’ energy transition strategy by driving sustainable operations, supporting commercial energy transition solutions for customers, and ensuring market creation of these solutions via stakeholder engagement and policy development.
In 2021 alone, she was recognized by Petroleum Economist as among Top 10 Women Leading Energy Transition in Sustainability, by Oil & Gas Investor as among 25 Influential Women in Energy, and by Hart Energy for its ESG Champion of Year Award.
Before joining Baker Hughes, she served as the executive director of the American Geosciences Institute, which represents more than 250,000 geoscientists and focuses on increasing public awareness of the role geosciences play in society’s use of resources. Prior to that, she held several academic, policy and senior government positions, including teaching at Georgetown University, working for the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and serving as the associate director of strategic engagement of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) at the U.S. Department of the Interior. She began her career as a geoscientist for ExxonMobil.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in geology and music from the University of Northern Iowa, and a master’s degree in geology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Over 20+ years Amal-Lee has delivered high impact outcomes within Government; multilateral development bank; think-tank and impact investing contexts. Leadership roles involved design and implementation of the: Climate Investment Funds; REEEP, a global partnership on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency; UK’s Green Investment Bank and, more recently, the Adaptation and Resilience Investors Collaborative. Thought-leadership and professional achievements are underpinned by her Doctorate on drivers for change within the power sector and policy recommendations for commercialisation of renewable energy technologies in developing economies.
As Managing Director at the UK’s DFI British International Investment Amal-Lee leads teams with oversight of the climate, gender & diversity portfolio as well as advisory. From 2020 – 21 Amal-Lee was senior advisor to the UK COP26 Presidency and is currently a member of the independent High Level Expert Group on Climate Finance, the OECD Advisory Group on climate and economic resilience, as well as Board and trustee roles including the Centre for Greening Finance and Investment and the Born Free Foundation.
From 2015 – 2020, Amal-Lee was Chief of Climate Change at the Inter-American Development Bank and from 2011- 2015 developed E3G’s international climate finance programme.



Amarjeet Sohi

The Honorable Amarjeet Sohi is the Mayor of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 17, worked as a bus driver for the Edmonton Transit System and was an active member of the Transit Employee Union. He was elected to Edmonton City Council in 2007, serving for eight years before being elected as a Member of Parliament for Edmonton’s Mill Woods riding. During that time, he served as Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources from 2018 to 2019 and Minister of Infrastructure and Communities from 2015 to 2018. On 18 October 2021, he became the first person of a racialized minority to be elected Mayor of Edmonton.

A graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), he spent most of his career in various positions at the French Treasury Department and in the IMF and the World Bank, including as a Board member of the two institutions for 8 years.

Prior to his appointment, Amish has held senior leadership roles in sales and operations within the AVEVA Group. Andrew Georgiou is Director Policy and Regulation for Enviva Europe, leading the company’s regulatory and policy engagement activities across Europe. Andrew brings ten years’ experience working in politics and public policy. Prior to joining Enviva he ran E.ON’s Representative Office in Brussels, responsible for engagement with EU stakeholders and policymakers. He began his career working for a Member of the UK Parliament before joining E.ON UK’s Public Affairs team where he was responsible for political engagement on downstream and renewables issues. During this period, he also worked in the UK PR team and in E.ON’s start up accelerator “:agile”.

Andrew Torre serves as Regional President for the CEMEA region at Visa Inc. In this role, he oversees all of Visa’s operations in more than 90 countries across the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region and cultivates relationships with Visa’s clients and government authorities. Andrew reports to Visa’s global president, Ryan McInerney and sits on Visa’s global Operating Committee. Andrew has been with Visa since 2002, holding global roles in product, strategy, and pricing, as well as general manager roles in Russia and Sub-Saharan Africa and is a member of the President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa. An industry veteran, Andrew’s experience outside Visa includes terms with BankServ where he was General Manager of the Enterprise Payments Division and Washington Mutual where he served as Vice President of New Product Development and Strategic Planning. He has also worked with the World Bank in Kiev, Moscow, and CIS territories. Torre received his M.A. from Johns Hopkins University, and he holds a B.A. from the University of Vermont.

Angela Reithuber is a passionate advocate for climate action and gender equality with a strong professional background in leading international multi-stakeholder projects. She has worked for several years in strategy consulting (Boston Consulting Group) with a project portfolio focusing on sustainability in both the public and private sector. Throughout her career, she has lived and worked in various countries from Latin America to Asia. She is a certified trainer delivering capacity building on human rights and leadership.
At the BKMC, she is leading the program “Elevating Agricultural Adaptation”.



Angelene Huang
Alliance for Impact
Angelene Huang is the Founder and CEO of Alliance for Impact (AFI). This global non-profit organization promotes sustainability and positive impact through finance and investment education, social innovations, and entrepreneurship. During the pandemic, AFI offered free online seminars and entrepreneurship coaching programs to the public. Ms. Huang is also the founder of Youth Entrepreneurship and Finance Association (YEFA), a non-profit managed and run by a group of high school and college students from different parts of the world. Prior to AFI, Ms. Huang worked on multiple modelling projects for the EPA at Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a multinational consulting firm focusing on sustainability. Beginning in August 2022, AFI and YEFA launched the first Youth Sustainable Investment Competition (YSIC), attracting hundreds of high school students worldwide. In the competition, all participants are required to invest in ESG-friendly stocks and provide a written analysis. In September 2022, YEFA collaborated with a Harvard-trained art educator to host the first global Youth SDG Art Competition (YSAC), with the topic of The Future of Food. Ms. Huang is a passionate advocate of ESG and innovation for a global youth generation.
Ms. Huang holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and two master’s degrees in Computer Science and Environmental Engineering. She is currently a board member and a senior advisor for multiple organizations. From 2011 to 2020, Ms. Huang was Head of Treasury for a top global quantitative hedge fund in New York. She was responsible for risk management and short-term investment of multi-billion USD.

An engineer by practice, the company’s chief executive officer, Aniruddha has been instrumental in building and developing Carbon Clean into a global leader in cost-effective industrial carbon capture. With 49 sites currently operating across North America, Europe and Asia capturing 1.7 million tonnes of CO2 using Carbon Clean’s proven technology and solvents.
He leads and sets the company’s strategy and goals, and maintains overall responsibility for our sales, marketing and project delivery operations. He is also the company’s Board Chair. While pursuing his master’s degree in Statistics at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, Aniruddha Co-founded Carbon Clean in 2009.
Selected as one of the Top 50 Brightest Young Climate Leaders, he was a part of the youth delegation to COP15 and COP/MOP 5 (Kyoto Protocol) and awarded a ‘Technology Pioneer’ award by the World Economic Forum in 2015.
As of 2022, Aniruddha has secured investment and multiple strategic partnerships with global players to develop and invest in carbon capture projects. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and represents Carbon Clean on industry groups such as the CCSA, the Global CCS Institute and His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales’ Sustainable Markets Initiative that aims to lead and accelerate the world’s transition to a sustainable future.

Anthony is Executive Fellow, Strategic Engagement, Centre for Nature and Climate, World Economic Forum. Anthony is Chair to the Advisory Board and former Executive Director of the Mission Possible Partnership. Anthony was Chief Executive Officer of the Carbon Tracker Initiative from February 2014 to March 2019. Previously he was a partner and Global Head of the Sustainability & Climate Finance Practice at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. Formerly he was General Counsel to the Climate Change Capital Carbon Fund and Director of Legal Policy for Climate Change Capital which he joined in September 2005.
Anthony specialised in climate change and clean energy law as well as UK, EU and international environmental law. He has played a key role in helping to design the UKs pilot emissions trading scheme and in developing key aspects of the EU ETS. He advised a wide range of banks, trading companies, project development companies, corporates and public sector entities who were active participants in carbon markets. Anthony was seconded to Norton Rose Fulbright’s Sydney office between 2010 and 2012 where he was heavily involved in the development of the emerging carbon and clean energy markets in Australia and Asia. He was a key figure behind the creation of the business advocacy group Businesses for a Clean Economy, a coalition of business arguing for a price on carbon. Anthony was behind the creation of the business group Climate Markets & Investment Association. He sat on the board of the Verified Carbon Standards Association (now Vera) between 2007 and 2015. He currently sits on the Advisory Board to the Climate Bonds Initiative and the Global Footprint Network. Anthony holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Chemistry & Physics and an LLM in Environmental Law. He qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1994. As Head of Environment and Climate Change at the World Steel Association, Åsa runs the worldsteel Environment Committee and leads the association’s engagement with International organisations such as the UNFCCC and OECD. She plays an important role in shaping the policy and advocacy actions for the industry including the promotion of industry action.
Before joining worldsteel, Åsa worked at both Jernkontoret, the Swedish Steel Producer’s Association and EUROFER, the European Steel Industry Association, where she was responsible for engaging with policy makers, most notably the European Commission and European Parliament, on the needs of the European steel industry in the area of environmental policy.

Before joining Start-Up Nation Central, Avi spent more than a decade as an early-stage investor at venture capital firms Gemini Israel Funds and Emerge, identifying promising startups and helping them scale. Between 2011 and 2017 he served as Chief Scientist at Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry and as the Founding Chairman of the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA), a key government driver of Israel’s tech explosion over the past decade. She is a skilled global investment portfolio and risk management senior professional with 25+ years of visionary leadership and a strong track record in emerging markets investment, asset management, private equity, infrastructure, and climate change related financing products, with a particular focus on African and Asian Markets. Ayaan Adam is a motivated leader with strong organizational, people management and prioritization abilities.
Ayaan Adam is currently a Senior Director and the CEO of AFC Capital Partners – the 100% owned Asset Management Subsidiary of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC). She is in charge of the implementation and the establishment of AFC’s Asset Management business – involving the development of the strategy, incubation of the asset manager, and institutional building of a strong asset manager (strategy, organization, and implementation plan). The Fund Manager is charged with mobilizing and managing third-party funds to unlock new sources of capital to fund the African infrastructure investment gap estimated at US$ 2.3 trillion. AFC Capital Partners aims to raise US$ 2 billion over the next 3 years for its inaugural Infrastructure Climate Resilient Fund.
Prior to her role at Africa Finance Corporation, Ms. Adam headed the private sector arm of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), established within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Based in South Korea, she played a key role in building the mandate of the GCF Private Sector Facility and rapidly scaling its portfolio to US$ 2.1 billion in three years across Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean. At the GCF, Ayaan directed the establishment of the GCF’s Private Investment for Climate Conference (GPIC) and built a strong relationship with key institutional investors and foundations interested in the climate space.
Ms Adam previously was CDC Group’s Managing Director of Africa Private Markets Funds where she directed the management of investment portfolio of $2.5B invested in 50+ new and existing partnerships and 40 GPs operating in Africa region and managed a team of 15 high-performing Private Equity professionals.
Prior to her stint at CDC, Ayaan had an exceptional 17-year career with the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), serving as a Chief Investment Officer among other roles. At the IFC, Ms Adam directed and oversaw the development of IFC’s South Asia strategy, due diligence, and risk management of existing portfolio, including ESG risk, mapping of sub sectors, and targeted markets key to India’s as well as 5 of its neighboring countries industrialization and growth trajectory. She played a pivotal role in the growth of the Investment Business Unit from $200M per year (pre-2009) to $1B+; closed 45+ new transactions and many of these transactions were landmark investments positioning IFC as the most innovative investor in all six markets

His responsibilities have three aspects: helping investment teams structure impactful investment opportunities (particularly with regard to social, climate and energy transition investments); managing risks related to ESG, climate change and reputation and contributing to the organization’s outreach in collaboration with the CDPQ Global team. Mr. Millot is one of the architects of CDPQ’s climate change strategy and a seasoned investor in infrastructure and corporate debt in emerging markets, fields where ESG considerations have historically been at the forefront. At CDPQ since 2015, he previously held various positions in risk management and stewardship investing, including Business Unit Risk Manager for the Fixed Income, Capital Solutions and Cross-functional Risk portfolios. He also served as Head of Climate Risk and Issues and led the Stewardship Investing team. Before joining CDPQ, Mr. Millot was CEO and CIO at Cordiant Capital, an emerging market corporate debt fund manager. Earlier in his career, he was active in infrastructure project finance with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, U.K. and with BNP Paribas in Paris, France. Over the years UNEP FI has established some of the most important sustainability oriented frameworks within the finance industry, including the Principles for Responsible Investment (2006), the Principles for Sustainable Insurance (2012) and the Principles for Responsible Banking (2019). Since joining in 2015, Mr. Usher has focused on accelerating the deep integration of sustainability risks into financial practice, including addressing climate change, natural capital loss and human rights abuses, as well as building out the frameworks for positive impact finance needed to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Eric sits on several industry bodies including as UN representative on the
Board of the Principles for Responsible Investment, and as a member of the governing boards of the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance, the Investor Agenda and the impact fund REPP Africa. Prior to leading UNEP FI, Mr. Usher has over twenty years of experience in the low carbon sectors, spanning technology commercialisation in Canada, solar rural electrification in Morocco and financial sector development across emerging markets. Farid Al Awlaqi heads TAQA’s Generation business line, a position he has held since July 2020. In this role, he oversees and develops the company’s global power generation and water portfolio.
He previously served as Senior Vice President in the energy platform at Mubadala Investment, where he held various roles from operations to business development, investment and asset management.

Mr. Gordon S. Bennett has been Managing Director of Utility Markets at Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. since February 2015. Mr. Bennett is responsible for the sales and business development of ICE’s global environmental, European and Asian natural gas and power, and global coal portfolios. He is a member of the board of ICE Endex, ICE Futures Abu Dhabi and co-chairs the Sustainable Finance Working Group at ICE. He also contributes to a wide range of external environmental and energy market initiatives including being a member of the Nature Based Solutions Taskforce of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, the Transition to Net Zero Working Group of the Climate Financial Risk Forum and the Advisory Board of the University of Cambridge Energy Policy Research Group.
Prior to ICE, Mr. Bennett spent 12 years at the global energy broker, Spectron, joining as Group Financial Controller in 2002. She spent the early part of her career in the private sector and last held the position of Chief Executive Officer, PSA South East Asia and Japan, where she was responsible for the business performance of PSA’s port terminals in Singapore, Thailand, Brunei and Japan.
In 2006, Ms Fu joined politics and was appointed to various Ministries, including National Development, Education, Information, Communications and the Arts, Environment and Water Resources, and Foreign Affairs.
In 2015, Ms Fu was appointed Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Leader of the House. In July 2020, Ms Fu was appointed Minister for Sustainability and the Environment.

H.E. Dr. Eng. Habtamu Itefa Geleta is the Minister of Water and Energy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. He was appointed to the post on 5 October 2021 by H.E Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
He got his first degree in 1999 and his second degree in 2006 in Irrigation Engineering both from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia. And he got his PhD in Hydraulic Engineering from Stuttgart University, Germany in 2011.
He began his career as a practicing engineer at the Benishangul-Gumuz regional Water Bureau and then joined in the academic sphere where he lectured at Arba Minch University and later on at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, respectively. He also served at different leadership positions from school dean to University VicePresident.
He then went on to serve as Deputy Head of Urban and Housing Bureau of the Oromia Regional State from 2016 to 2017; Director-General of the Oromial Regional State Road Authority from 2017 to 2019 and Head of the Oromia Regional State Water and Energy Resource Development Bureau from 2019 up until his present Ministerial appointment to lead the Ministry of Water and Energy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

UAE Climate Change Special Envoy
Hana AlHashimi is the Chief Climate Negotiator for the UAE for COP27 and COP28, and Head of the Office of the Special Envoy for Climate Change, HE Dr. Sultan Al Jaber.
Previously, she led the International Organizations Section of the United Arab Emirates Prime Minister’s Office, leading partnerships with the United Nations, OECD, African Union, among others. AlHashimi served as a senior adviser to the President of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly From 2018–2019, as team lead for climate action, sustainable energy, frontier technologies, and information and communications technologies (ICTs); and as the liaison with the Group of 77 and China (a group of 134 countries from the developing south). From 2015 to 2018, AlHashimi served as Happiness Representative, Sustainable Development and Digital Cooperation Expert at the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the United Nations in New York. Her prior experience includes project development for sustainable energy accelerators at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, Austria.
From 2020-2021, AlHashimi led the book project “the Future of Diplomacy After COVID-19: Multilateralism and the Global Pandemic,” co-authored with colleagues and practitioners at the United Nations. From 2018-2021, she served as a member of the United Nations Secretary General’s Multistakeholder Advisory Board for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF-MAG).
She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Rashid and Latifa School Establishment since 2022. She holds a Masters of Sciences in International Relations and Diplomacy from Leiden University and the Netherlands Institute for International Relations (Clingendael), and a Bachelors of Commerce in General Management and the Social Context of Business from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.



Harry Boyd-Carpenter
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
Harry Boyd-Carpenter is the Managing Director, Climate Strategy and Delivery at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He took up this role in April 2021.
Mr Boyd-Carpenter is responsible for coordinating the EBRD’s work across the green economy and climate agendas, with the overall goal of meeting the Bank’s commitment to achieve a green finance ratio of at least 50 per cent of annual investment by 2025. He leads a group that drives climate and green financing, policy and analysis across all economic sectors and financing instruments, as well as representing the EBRD in climate and sustainable finance forums.
Mr Boyd-Carpenter is a British national and joined the EBRD in 2005 in the Office of the General Counsel. In 2008 he transferred to the then Power and Energy Utilities team in Banking, before becoming Director, Head of Energy EMEA in 2017 where he led the Bank’s investment activities in the energy sector in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Before joining the EBRD Mr Boyd-Carpenter was an Associate in the project finance team at Allen and Overy LLP and also worked for the European Agency for Reconstruction in Pristina. He is a graduate of the University of Oxford.



HE Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany

Her Excellency Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany is the Permanent Representative of the UAE to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) since April 2018.
Previously, Dr. Al Hosany held the position of the Executive Director of Sustainability at Masdar, the international renewable energy leader based in Abu Dhabi. She also served as the Director of the Zayed Future Energy Prize (now known as the Zayed sustainability Prize) for eight years between 2011-2018. She is currently a Jury member of the Prize. She was also the Deputy Director General of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA) between 2017-2018.
Apart from her current position and as part of her professional career, Dr. Al-Hosany holds positions across various business sectors, government entities and academic institutions in the UAE and internationally. She is also an active and prominent member of several key international, regional and local climate-focused boards and committees, including the advisory council of National Geographic magazine, the advisory board of the Payne Institute in Colorado School of Mines, the advisory Panel for the Momentum for Change initiative of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She is a board member of Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), the international organization that works in partnership with the United Nations to accelerate action on Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7), the Paris Climate Agreement, and the UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation. Concurrently, she serves as the Vice Chair for the Global Council of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dr. Nawal Al Hosany’s numerous professional achievements have been widely acknowledged through prestigious awards. In July 2018, Dr. Al-Hosany was presented the “Doctor of letters Honoris Causa” from Keele University in the UK in recognition for her achievements in the field of sustainability. Dr Al-Hosany also received the “Arab Woman Award” and the “Emirates Business Women Award”.
She graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at the UAE University in 1992 and obtained her PhD from Newcastle University in the UK in 2002.
Dr. Al-Hosany is also credited as one of the first two Emirati women to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres above sea-level.

Jenny Davis-Peccoud joined Bain & Company in 1992 and is a partner in the firm’s Amsterdam office. Jenny heads Bain’s Global Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility practice.
With her clients, Jenny advises multi-national companies across sectors on how to tackle social and environmental issues at the heart of their core businesses. She has a particular focus on the food value chain, from agriculture to consumer products to retail, and the systems solutions needed to drive lasting change.
Jenny also directs Bain’s research program into topics such as the change management challenge of sustainability programs and the role of sustainability in employee engagement. Jim Skea was elected IPCC Chair for the Seventh Assessment cycle in July 2023. He was Co-Chair of IPCC Working Group III for the 6th Assessment Cycle. From 2009 to 2023, Jim Skea was Professor of Sustainable Energy at Imperial College London. His research interests are in energy, climate change and technological innovation. He was Research Director of the UK Energy Research Centre 2004-12 and Director of the Policy Studies Institute 1998-2004. He has operated at the interface between research, policy-making and business throughout his career. He was a member of the UK Committee on Climate Change from its inception in 2008 until 2018, and was the Chair of Scotland’s Just Transition Commission from 2018 to 2023. From 2015-17, he was President of the UK Energy Institute. He was awarded a CBE for services to sustainable energy in 2013 and an OBE for services to sustainable transport in 2004.”

Jingdong Hua has been Vice Chair of the ISSB since 1 October 2022. He brings a wealth of international finance and development expertise to the ISSB. He is the former Vice President and Treasurer of the World Bank, where his responsibilities included green bond initiatives and sustainable finance capacity-building programmes. He also served as the Administrator of the World Bank Group Pension Fund. Before joining the World Bank, he served as Vice President and Treasurer of the International Finance Corporation, where he led innovative bond issuances in several emerging markets. He has also previously served as Deputy Treasurer of the Asian Development Bank and has held positions at the United Nations Development Programme and the African Development Bank.

Between 2015 and 2021, Johannes Demuth was the personal speechwriter for Oliver Zipse, both in his functions as board member for production and subsequently as CEO of BMW AG. Prior to this, he was assistant speechwriter for the CEO of BMW AG and the Head of Corporate and Governmental Affairs.

John Mulligan
John is Director of Market Relations and Climate Change Lead at the World Gold Council (WGC), leading its climate change research programme and associated engagement with investors, policy makers and stakeholder organisations.
Additionally, he contributes to the organisation’s wider insight and communications outputs to improve understanding of the whole gold supply chain, and the integration of ESG considerations into strategic market and investment perspectives.
John has been responsible for the production of key research on the socio-economic impacts of the gold industry and is currently focused on exploring gold’s potential roles in the context of a world reshaped by climate change. He writes extensively and comments regularly on wider gold market dynamics, investment strategies, and responsible and sustainable business practices.
John also engages and collaborates with a range of industry organisations and stakeholder groups, including the OECD, the ICMM, (International Council on Mining and Metals) and CIBJO (World Jewellery Confederation).

She leads Duke Energy’s stakeholder engagement efforts to develop solutions to meet customer needs for continued reliable and affordable energy – while simultaneously working to achieve the company’s goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
In addition, Katherine maintains oversight of the Duke Energy Foundation, which provides philanthropic support to help meet the needs of communities where Duke Energy customers live and work. Katherine joined Duke Energy in August 2020 from Walmart, where she led environmental, social and governance strategy and oversaw stakeholder engagement on behalf of Walmart’s sustainability team.

Kentaro Hosomi is Executive Vice President at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and also serves as Chief Regional Officer (CRO) for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region and CEO Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EMEA, Ltd. In his current role, Mr. Hosomi leads MHI’s efforts to grow its business across the region and across MHI Group companies, including Mitsubishi Power, Mitsubishi Logisnext, Primetals Technologies and MHI Air-conditioning Europe.

Kushla is responsible for the delivery of the Australian Government’s climate change policy, including international engagement in multilateral fora, net zero innovation and partnerships, and international strategic climate policy.
Previously Kushla worked at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as the head of the Global Development Branch, where in 2015 she was Australia’s lead negotiator on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. Kushla has also held senior roles in the Office of National Assessments and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Since Feb 2022, she is head of sustainability Assurance and Advocacy at HSBC AM. She joined FRR supervisory board as representative of CFDT, a French union she is a member of. She is also member of the Committee of the French Responsible Investment label which main mandate is to make recommendations to the Minister of economy to strengthen the credibility and the performance of the French label. She has 20 years of experience in the financial sector. From 2014 to 2017, she was advisor to the chief executive of Banque Populaire Méditerranée. She joined the BPCE financial group in 2011. She previously worked at Bâtirente, a Canadian pension fund, as extra-financial risks manager, and has been involved in different working groups of the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (The PRI). Throughout her career, Laetitia had the opportunity to lead transformation projects (digital transformation, transformation to comply to regulation modification, elaboration and implementation of a responsible investment strategy). She has an extensive experience in multi-stakeholder dialogs (policy makers, NGOs, companies, investors). She was a steering committee member of the Initiative Climate Action 100+, Frenchsif board member, and member of the PRI francophone advisory group. Laetitia was born in 1976. Lauren is a global expert and senior leader in sustainable finance. She leads a team committed to growing S&P Global’s Sustainable1 business with functional responsibilities for commercial strategy, go to market, product specialists, client engagement and marketing.
Prior to joining S&P Lauren was a member of the board and senior management team of Trucost responsible for the successful sale of the business to S&P Dow Jones Indices in 2016 and integrating the Trucost business into S&P Global Market Intelligence in 2018. She was integrally involved in a number of major market innovations such as developing the world’s first portfolio carbon footprint and helped grow the Trucost business from being a start up to a market leader in climate finance. Prior to Trucost, Lauren worked in Equity Research in the fund management industry and was a consultant at the UK Government’s Department for International Development working on the Millennium Development Goals.
Lauren is a regular speaker and respected commentator on sustainable finance, quoted in publications such as the Economist, Investment Week, IPE and The Actuary. In 2019 she was a speaker in Davos at the World Economic Forum on, “The future of finance”. Lauren holds a BA & MA from Cambridge University in Archaeology & Anthropology and an MSc in Anthropology & International Development from the London School of Economics.

Lisa Kurbiel promotes partnerships with Governments, UN entities, civil society, academia, the private sector, and family offices to design and implement integrated policy approaches and innovative financing vehicles to accelerate progress towards the SDGs. She previously served as UNICEF Chief of Advocacy and Partnerships in Kenya, where she led private sector engagement, including positioning UNICEF among critical fintech leaders in mobile money toward the launch of an on-line social bond for educational programmes. In Somalia, she led UNICEF’s Social Policy team during a two-year drought emergency and in Mozambique, positioned the UN for strengthened engagement with the IFIs and channeled revenues from the extractive industries toward social subsidies. Lisa has advised Governments regarding their long-term legislative, policy, and development strategies, developed, and implemented policy initiatives to combat sexual abuse and exploitation, human trafficking, and child labor in armed conflicts within the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations. Lisa is a member of the New York State Bar and a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law.

Lisa joined AVEVA in 2020 to lead the organisation’s global sustainability strategy and function. Lisa has over 15 years of experience working on environmental and social issues for global companies having previously worked in multiple sustainability roles at Chevron and more recently having built up a sustainability programme at Under Armour.
Lisa has a successful track record across all major areas of corporate sustainability, including strategy development, programme design, ESG reporting and communications. She is passionate about accelerating the contribution of digitalization to sustainable development and enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders to help solve sustainability challenges.

Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas (Magdalena de Kino, Sonora; July 31st, 1985) is a husband, father and since 2021 the Mayor of the City of Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo León and center of the second largest metropolitan area in Mexico. His vision for the city is to turn it into the most humane, innovative and sustainable city in the country through the reunification of the citizens and the government, placing people at the center of decisions and urban design.
He has a Law Degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Tec de Monterrey) and as an academic, has been an active member of professional associations and a professor of Law at various educational institutions. As an entrepreneur, he is co-founder of Komenko, a legal advice platform for entrepreneurs and founding partner of the law firm, “Basave, Colosio, Sánchez Abogados”.
He began his public career as a Local Deputy in the LXXV Legislature of the H. Congress of the State of Nuevo León (2018-2021) where he chaired and led the Commission for Social Development, Human Rights and Indigenous Affairs. He also served as Coordinator of the Parliamentary Fraction of the Movimiento Ciudadano Party and as the National Coordinator of Local Deputies of the Movimiento Ciudadano Party.
During said Legislature, he distinguished himself by promoting transparency in the legislative work and promoting paternity leave. Which has been extended from 5 to 36 days, including salary, to the employees of the municipality, making him the first Mayor in the State of Nuevo León to grant it.

Born in the city of Oviedo, Asturias, Dr Neira is a Spanish national, a medical doctor by training and specialized in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases in Paris, France. Dr. Frick joined the WFP Global Office Germany in Berlin as Director in 2021. Prior to this assignment, he was the Deputy Special Envoy to the Food Systems Summit 2021. He served before as the Senior Director of UN Climate Change (UNFCC) where he was overseeing the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the secretariat’s Climate Action work. From 2015 – 2017, he served as Director for Climate Change at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). As Ambassador to the international organizations based in Germany (2012-2015), he helped building up the UN’s sustainability hub in Bonn.
Prior to this assignment, he led E3G’s – Third Generation Environmentalists, a leading climate change think tank – climate diplomacy work. From 2007 to 2010, as Programme Director of Kofi Annan’s Global Humanitarian Forum, Dr. Frick developed the founding narrative of climate justice. In 2007, during the German EU presidency, he was the European Union’s lead negotiator in the establishment of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. Prior to this, Dr. Frick served as German representative for human rights and humanitarian affairs at the UN General Assembly (2005 to 2007). From 2002 to 2005, he was Cabinet Affairs Advisor to German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer. From 1999 to 2002 he was posted to post-crisis Albania as Consul and Deputy Ambassador.
Dr. Frick has been a German diplomat since 1996. He holds a PhD in Law from Regensburg University and a diploma in International Relations from Science Po Strasbourg. He was a senior fellow at Demos, New York as well as a guest lecturer at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.

The focus of his work is on how to mobilise finance for climate action in ways that support a just transition, promoting the role of central banks and regulators in achieving sustainable development and investigating how the financial system can support the restoration of nature. Nick is author of The Road to Net Zero Finance for the UK’s Climate Change Committee and co-founder of the Financing the Just Transition Alliance and is also a Commissioner on Scotland’s Just Transition Commission. He leads the finance platform for the Place-based Climate Action Network, and is co-chair of the International Network for Sustainable Finance Policy Insights, Research and Exchange (INSPIRE). Nicola specialises in the role of finance in sustainability, resilience and inclusive development. She works extensively in emerging and developing economies and globally with financial institutions, Central Banks, Governments and International Finance Institutions both to mobilise finance for resilience and sustainability goals and to develop solutions to build resilience globally to shocks. Her research covers climate, nature, resilience, adaptation and the SDGs with a strong finance, macro and public policy lens. Nicola also holds multiple advisory roles, including as a member of the European Commission High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Investment in Low and Middle Income Economies, an Academic Visitor at the Bank of England and more. Prior to joining Oxford, Nicola held senior roles in the World Bank and DFID (now FCDO) to strengthen fiscal and financial resilience to climate and crises, mobilise finance for resilience and put in place local, national and international systems to strengthen resilience to shocks and crises. In 2017, Nicola established the Centre for Disaster Protection in the UK and from 2021 to 2023 was involved in founding and acted as Deputy Director and Director of Climate and Environmental Analytics at the Centre for Greening Finance and Investment. Previously he served as Chief of Staff/Chef de Cabinet at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Geneva. Prof. Patrick Verkooijen is the CEO of the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), the international organization working as a solutions broker to accelerate, innovate, and scale adaptation action for a climate-resilient world.
Previously, Prof. Verkooijen helped shape the climate agenda of the World Bank Group in his role as the Special Representative on Climate Change. In this capacity, he established global initiatives to support countries address the impacts of climate change, including amongst others, the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, and the US$800 million Forest Investment Program.
Prof. Verkooijen has dedicated his career to working alongside global leaders to drive action for transformative solutions for climate adaptation at scale. Under his bold leadership, GCA is collaborating with global leaders, including President Macky Sall, Chair of the African Union, Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group, to mobilize US$25 billion in adaptation financing for Africa through the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP). Notably, AAAP has already influenced $3bn in investment for adaptation in Africa since its inception.
Prof. Verkooijen serves as the Ban Ki-moon Chair on Climate Adaptation Governance at the University of Groningen, as the Distinguished Chair of The Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies at the University of Nairobi and Professor of Practice of Sustainable Development Diplomacy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He holds a PhD from Wageningen University, an MPA from Harvard and was awarded a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa, of the University of Nairobi in recognition of his long career and achievements in championing climate action globally and shaping bold action at scale in Africa.

She is the second woman to lead the organization in its 75-year history and its first president from West Asia. Her Excellency Razan Al Mubarak serves as UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for the leadership team of COP28 Presidency, which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12, 2023. Her
diverse experience leading the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, the largest environmental regulatory agency in the Middle East, the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, an international philanthropic organization supporting species conservation projects worldwide, and Emirates Nature – WWF, an Emirates-based NGO focused on citizen engagement, earned her recognition as one of the top 100 Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum in 2018.

Reece was re-elected as the Member for Baldivis in March 2021. He was sworn in as the Minister for Emergency Services; Racing and Gaming; Small Business; Volunteering in the McGowan Government on 19 March 2021. He became Minister for Environment; and Climate Action on 21 December 2021.
Reece grew up on the outskirts of Perth, working from a young age in his parents’ family business – giving him first-hand experience of the challenges small business owners face. His experience growing up in an outer suburb gave him an insight into the importance of quality transport, schools, hospitals, and community and sporting facilities.
Reece’s interest in community and current events led him to embark on a career in journalism. He started as a cadet reporter at a country newspaper before later joining the ABC, followed by a stint at Nine News, and a 20-year career at Seven News.
Reece often reported on battlers standing up for a fair go, which encouraged his interest in the potential for the political system to help create better, fairer communities. Reece is passionate about the role education plays in creating opportunities for young people and ensuring the State’s economy continues to grow and diversify to provide good jobs and prospects for all Western Australians.

Since 2012 Remco has built the climate programme and team at UNEP FI. Remco led the establishment of the UN-convened Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance, a group of now 85 institutional investors committed to transitioning over USD 10 trillion in assets to net-zero emissions by 2050. Subsequently he oversaw the establishment of the UN-convened Net Zero Banking Alliance that now convenes over 140 commercial banks with over USD 65 trillion in assets. Remco has also been instrumental in UNEP FI’s work with over 120 financial institutions spanning the banking, investment, and insurance industries, to develop, test, and standardise methodologies on climate risk assessment that respond to the recommendations of the Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. Prior to joining UNEP, Remco worked as an analyst in the infrastructure team at the German Development Finance Institution (DEG; KfW Group of Banks). He holds a British BA Honours in Business Administration and Economics from Napier University in Edinburgh and a dual Diplom (MSc) from Aachen University, Germany, and Universidad de Alicante, Spain, and is fluent in German, Spanish, English and French. He has been a leading or supporting author of more than a dozen UN publications on sustainable finance and climate change.

He brings his renowned expertise as Chief Environment Officer to NEOM. Leading the environmental functions and operations at NEOM, Bush is integral to ensuring that the giga-project delivers on its ambition to become the world’s most sustainable and livable region and an exemplary model for co-existing in harmony with nature. Central to his mission is the full integration of world-leading environmental sustainability, technologies, policies and innovation that will position NEOM as the new benchmark for what future sustainability can become. Prior to joining NEOM, Bush was the Crown Lands Commissioner for the Government of New South Wales (NSW), where he was responsible for the strategic governance of a USD 24 billion land portfolio and worked closely with the Ministers of Water, Environment, Treasury and Planning. He was also a board member for the NSW Environmental Protection Agency – the
lead agency for environmental regulation in NSW – collaborating with federal, state and local
governments to deliver environmental outcomes. He is currently Conjoint Professor for Sustainable Development at Monash University, educating the sustainability leaders of the future.
Bush was the Founding Director for the International Centre for Balanced Land Use. He created
the architecture for driving transformational reform in the regional economy through applied
research and development in partnership with industry and government. Achieving a distinguished career in academia and public administration, Bush has published over 200 scientific reports and has held several prestigious fellowships internationally. The impact of his career accomplishments includes patents, new technologies, policy reform and successful international efforts to implement environmental solutions to some of humanity’s greatest challenges, including climate change, water scarcity, circular economy and environmental sustainability.
Bush earned a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of New South
Wales in the field of environmental science. He also holds a number of certificates in leadership,

Sagarika Chatterjee, Department Director, Climate Finance, Climate Champions Sagarika leads on finance for the UN Climate Change High-level Champions, Dr Mahmoud Mohieldin and Her Excellency Ms Razan Al Mubarak. The two Champions’ roles were created by parties to the Paris Agreement. The Champions’ mandate is to catalyse non-state actor action and be a bridge to parties. The Champions today operate globally and convene over 11,000 non-state actors including over 8,000 corporates, 1,000 cities, and 550 financial institutions. The Champions finance team focuses on net zero implementation, nature, adaptation and resilience, and developing country finance. The Champions collaborate with net zero alliances across banks, investors and insurers that are Race to Zero Partners, and with the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) co-chaired by Mark Carney. Prior to the Champions, Sagarika was the PRI’s Director of Climate Change and Environment. At PRI, Sagarika co-headed the UN-convened Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance secretariat chaired by Allianz SE. Sagarika also led the PRI’s work with global investors on TCFD, The Inevitable Policy Response and early work in China. Sagarika has undertaken secondments with Aviva Investors and with the UN COP26 Champion Nigel Topping, helping establish several finance sector net zero alliances. Before PRI, Sagarika worked for over ten years at F&C Asset Management, served as an investment committee member for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and as a trustee at

Sanjay Wagle

A development economist, lawyer and changemaker with over 40 years of varied experience, Mr. Tripathi is the Chancellor of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences – the world’s largest academic institution dedicated exclusively to indigenous people and cultures. He is also a Senior Distinguished Fellow on Innovative Finance at the World Agroforestry Centre.
He has served with the UN for more than two decades in key positions across the planet and was most recently the UN Assistant Secretary-General, Head of New York Office at UN Environment and Secretary of the UN Environment Management Group. His other strategic engagements with the UN include: Head of Human Rights Investigations for the UN in post-war Bosnia (UNMIBH); Chair of the Committees on Laws, Treaties and Administrative matters for the UN-mediated Cyprus unification talks in 2004; UN Recovery Coordinator for Aceh and Nias where he facilitated international cooperation and funding of over US$ 7 billion for post-tsunami recovery efforts in support of the government and affected populations; and Executive Head of UNORCID, a UN System Office established by the UN Secretary General in 2011 to facilitate the implementation of a US$ 1 Billion REDD+ partnership between Indonesia, Norway and other stakeholders.
Mr. Tripathi was instrumental in establishing the Tropical Landscapes Finance Facility (TLFF) in Indonesia in 2016 and the Sustainable India Finance Facility (SIFF) in 2017 to leverage ‘private finance for public good’ at mega-scale to achieve transformative social and environmental impact for millions of people in developing countries. He previously served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Forests.


Scott Tew
Scott Tew is the founder and leader of the Center for Energy Efficiency & Sustainability at Trane Technologies (CEES) and is responsible for forward-looking sustainability initiatives. Since CEES was formed in 2010, the company has successfully met or exceeded its long-term goals in energy use and waste reduction, while embedding sustainability in all parts of the product development process. Key initiatives have also included launch of employee engagement and competency building programs and materiality assessments to ensure sustainability focus is in line with business drivers. Scott holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in environmental science and ecology from Livingston University.



Sean Kidney

Sean Kidney is CEO of the Climate Bonds Initiative, an international NGO working to mobilize global capital for climate action. Projects include a green bond definitions and certification scheme with $34 trillion of assets represented on its Board and some 200 organizations involved in its development and governance; working with the Chinese central bank on how to grow green bonds in China; and market development programs in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Nigeria and East Africa.
He is a member of the European Commission’s Platform on Sustainable Finance, and was a member of its predecessors, the 2017 EU High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and the EU Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance. He is also a member of green finance advisory groups in China, India, Mexico and Kazakhstan and an Advisory Board member of the International Sustainable Financial Centre in Prague.
He has previously been a consultant on green bonds to the United Nations Secretary General, a member of the Peoples Bank of China Green Finance Task Force and a member of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Expert Committee on Climate Finance.
Sean is also a Professor in Practice at SOAS University of London.

Shereen Zorba is the Head of the Secretariat of the UN Science-Policy-Business Forum on the Environment. She is also Chief of Science-Policy-Business Interface at UN Environment. Shereen Zorba is an expert in political communications and international relations whose work with the UN spans over 18 years. She has been credited for leading diverse, high-impact programmes across UN Environment and Peacekeeping operations. Her recent work focuses on strengthening the interface between science, policy and diverse markets to achieve environmental sustainability.
Since 2017, Shereen lead the convening of UN-SPBF around Big Data for the planet, bringing together the contributions and perspectives of diverse actors and experts, including technology giants and earth observations leaders. The Working Group on Big Data and Exponential Tech paved the way towards the unanimous adoption by UNEA of a ministerial declaration mandating the development of a global big data strategy on the environment by 2025. SPBF is the convening arm of the WESR, data strategy and recently launched DEAL initiative.

Sherif Hosny is the Founder & CEO Schaduf for Agriculture and Trade.
Schaduf is the leading company in rooftop farming in the Middle East and also pioneered the introduction of vertical wall gardens and green roofs in Egypt. Previously, Sherif was the Managing Director of Rio Tinto Alcan International Network in the MENA. During his time at Rio Tinto he was involved in several lean six sigma continuous improvement projects as well as carbon footprint reduction projects. He has over 18 years of experience in product management and business development with local and multinational companies in the food industry. Sherif completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from the American University in Cairo and holds an MBA from the same university. Since the inception of Schaduf, Sherif has been innovating new ways to bring nature closer to urban dwellers. He initiated the Cairo Rooftop Farming Project which has trained more than 1000 people on rooftop farming techniques and has installed more than 700 rooftop farms all over Cairo. Additionally, under his leadership, Schaduf has introduced green walls to the Egyptian market, which have had a noticeable effect on urban surroundings, outdoor design aesthetics, as well as the mental health and productivity inside offices and homes. Furthermore, he founded the urban landscaping division at Schaduf to integrate environmentally sound practices and green solutions into developmental projects from the
design stage. Sherif is a regular speaker at environmental, educational and entrepreneurial events. Some of the venues/eventsinclude the Egyptian Ministry of Environment’s Environment Day, The American University in Cairo, The German University in Cairo, Arabia CSR in Dubai, Rise-Up Egypt, Disrupt Design, El Sawy Cultural Wheel, Intelligent Cities, Cairo Climate Talks, World Bank Water Summit Beirut, Expand, Eco Tourism by GIZ and others. He also sits on the selection panel for the Yousreya Loza- Sawiris Scholarship fund. In 2016 Sherif was awarded the 100 Global Sustainable Leaders (CEO) Award.

A life-long Albertan, Hon. Sonya Savage has been a strong voice and champion for sustainable resource development in Alberta. Earning a Master of Laws in Environment and Energy, she practiced law for 13 years before taking a job in the pipeline sector. After working 9 years at Enbridge, she accepted a role as the Sr. Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) in 2015. She has handled the industry’s large policy files, including regulatory reform, Indigenous reconciliation, legal, environment and climate change.
On April 16, 2019, Min. Savage was elected to the Alberta Legislative Assembly as the MLA for Calgary-North West, and on April 30, was sworn in as Alberta’s Minister of Energy.
As Energy Minister, she led the sector during the global pandemic and price collapse, helping protect an industry already dealing with the impacts of sustained low prices, while also seeking opportunities in new and emerging resources needed for a low carbon future. She established a framework to advance CCUS hubs, to allocate pore space for CO2 emission storage. Min. Savage completed a review of the Alberta Energy Regulator, implemented a liability management system to accelerate well clean-up, passed strategies and legislation to enable critical and rare earth minerals development and geothermal, to position Alberta for a low carbon future.
Min. Savage’s expertise in the North American energy system has been broadly recognized, leading to key roles and speaking opportunities on energy security and engagement with energy officials from governments, companies, and thought leaders across the globe.
Hon. Sonya Savage was sworn in as Alberta’s Minister of Environment and Protected Areas on October 24, 2022.

Susan Aitken was elected as Leader of Glasgow City Council in 2017, forming a Scottish National Party (SNP) led City Government in the first change of political administration in Glasgow in 40 years. She was first elected as a councillor for the Langside ward (where she lives with her husband) in 2012, following a career in public policy and communications in the third sector and the Scottish Parliament, and as a freelance writer and editor specialising in social care issues. Susan was reappointed to a second term as Council Leader following the 2022 Scottish Local Government elections.
Under her leadership, Glasgow has hosted the UN Climate Summit COP26, which led to the formation of the Glasgow Climate Pact; was awarded Global Green City status by the Global Forum on Human Settlements in 2020; has been named host of the inaugural UCI World Cycling Championships during its year as 2023 European Capital of Sport; and secured host status for the World Indoor Athletics Championships in 2024.
Susan was awarded Scottish Local Politician of the Year in 2019 for her work to end historic gender pay discrimination and deliver compensation for thousands of women Council workers. Suzi Kerr is a Senior Vice President and the Chief Economist at Environmental Defense Fund. She was, until May 2019, a Senior Fellow, and from 1998 – 2009 Founding Director, at Motu Research in New Zealand. She graduated from Harvard University in 1995 with a PhD in Economics. She has also worked at the University of Maryland at College Park, Resources for the Future (USA), and the Joint Center for the Science and Policy of Global Change at MIT. She was a Visiting Professor at Stanford University for the 2009/10 year, and at the University of the Andes in Bogotá, Colombia in the first half of 2014. In 2018, she was President of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society. He was a Partner of strategy consultancy GreenOrder, helping clients including private equity firms, Morgan Stanley, Google, GM, GE, Duke Energy, SABIC, and DuPont drive growth and profitability through investments in environmental innovation, resource efficiency, and clean technology. Zack Parisa is the co-founder and CEO of NCX (formerly SilviaTerra). Over the last decade, he has developed and innovated precision forestry tools that are revolutionizing the way that forests can be measured, valued, and managed. Using satellites, cloud computing, and machine learning, NCX worked with Microsoft to create “Basemap,” the first high-resolution forest inventory of the United States. It is now using this data to build new markets for forest values beyond timber, such as carbon, wildlife habitat, and fire risk. Zack is a forester and biometrician by training and earned an MFS from Yale University, and a BS in Forestry from Mississippi State University. He was a 2021 candidate for the Pritzker Emerging Environmental Genius Award and a 2021 honoree for the annual Environment and Energy Leader 100 list.

Dr. Ould-Dada is Deputy Director in the Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment at UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) leading FAO’s coordination of climate change and Energy workstream. He is currently member of the “UN COP27 Task Team” established by the UN Secretary General to offer “One UN” support the COP27 Egyptian Presidency. Before joining FAO, he was Head of Technology Unit at UNEP for five years leading work on technology, climate change, renewables and energy efficiency.
He was member of the UN Inter-Agency Task Team developing the Technology Facilitation Mechanism and its Annual Science Technology and Innovation Forum to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
He worked for the British Government for 15 years providing policy and technical advice on many areas including food safety; environmental policy; climate change; energy policy; radiation protection; and science and technology. He was the Lead Negotiator on International Climate Change and Technology for the UK (2008-2012) and France (2008). He chaired negotiations on technology transfer, agriculture, blue carbon, and nature and ecosystems which contributed to reaching the landmark Paris Climate Agreement in 2015. His international responsibilities also included Chair of EU Expert Group on Technology; Chair of IRENA’s Policy and Strategy Committee; and Member of UN Task Team for producing a UN System-wide Approach to Climate Action for the UN Climate Action Summit 2019.
