Opening dialogue: It’s time to fast-track not back-track

09:0009:20 BST

As we mark a decade since the Paris Agreement, and with just five years to achieve the critical 2030 targets, we need to accelerate the shift from promises to progress. But in an era of political uncertainty, and with big banks backing out of climate initiatives, this session will explore:

  • How do we seize the opportunity and ensure climate remains at the top of the global agenda?
  • Why is the sustainable transition the defining growth story of our time?
  • How do we minimise financial pushback and drive economic growth through climate innovation and clean investment?

Panel 1: Tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030

09:3010:10 BST

Despite record-breaking growth, renewables deployment is still way below the global target to triple renewable energy by 2030. Meeting this target and unlocking the energy security and economic benefits of the clean energy transition requires much faster progress on a much larger scale. This session will explore the enablers and opportunities for accelerating renewables over the next five years.

  • What key shifts are needed from public and private stakeholders to accelerate the pace of renewable energy deployment?
  • Which renewable technologies offer the most significant growth and investment opportunities?
  • What lessons can be learnt from nations that have successfully scaled renewables, and how can these be effectively adapted and transferred to other regions?

Climate Leader Insight: De-risking the Transition - The Insurability Imperative

10:3010:40 BST

As the world accelerates its transition to a low-carbon economy, the scale and pace of climate investment required is unprecedented. Yet rising physical climate risks, policy uncertainty and rapidly evolving technologies continue to deter capital flows. Insurability, the ability to quantify, price, and transfer risk, has emerged as a critical enabler of both climate action and investment at scale. This session will explore:

  • How the insurance industry, through its core capabilities in risk analytics, underwriting, and capital mobilization, can help de-risk the climate transition.
  • How this can unlock new avenues for public and private finance.

Dialogue: Mobilizing private climate investment in EMDEs

11:5012:20 BST

As COP30 approaches, the Brazilian COP Presidency is expected to present a concrete roadmap to scale cross-border climate investment flows to Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs) to $1.3 trillion per year—building on the $300 billion annual public finance commitment secured at COP29. Timed between London Climate Action Week and the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) in Seville, this high-level panel will convene leaders from government, development finance institutions, and the private sector to discover:

  • What solutions can help to mobilise additional climate finance from the private sector for EMDEs?
  • How can global financial centres, governments, multilateral development banks and private sector financial institutions design and deliver additional solutions to significantly scale climate finance flows?
  • What can upcoming multilateral discussions at COP30 in Brazil and at FFD4

Climate Leader Insight: Powering the future: building climate-resilient energy infrastructure

12:2012:30 BST

Clean, reliable and affordable energy is essential to mitigating climate risks and securing future economic success of Europe. The energy transition is not simply a climate imperative—it is a strategic necessity for economic stability, national security, and long-term prosperity.

In this session we will discuss the key insights of our just released report on energy resilience that sets out to show the value of closing that assessment gap and how to strengthen the resilience of Europe’s energy infrastructure in the face of mounting climate risks.

Dialogue: Climate tech innovation: delivering impact at scale

12:3012:50 BST

Climate tech is a rapidly evolving industry, offering powerful solutions to address the climate crisis — but scaling impact remains a major challenge. This session explores how innovation can move from pilot to planet, and what’s needed to unlock its full potential across all sectors and regions.

  • What are the key trends to watch in climate tech innovation this year?
  • How can public-private ecosystems be created and strengthened to support the growth of sustainable innovation?
  • How can we to accelerate and harness climate tech innovation in the Global South?

Panel: The next steps in supply chain decarbonisation

14:0514:45 BST

Tackling supply chain emissions is a formidable, complex challenge that requires opaque carbon accounting and tracking practices and the need to work collaboratively with suppliers and other participants in the value chain, often to develop new skills and behaviours. So how can companies break through the barriers to make significant progress in reducing their Scope 3 emissions?

  • What practical steps can companies take to identify and reduce emissions across their supply chains?
  • How can partnerships between suppliers, manufacturers and customers accelerate decarbonisation efforts, and what are some successful examples of such collaborations?
  • What role do digital tools, real-time data tracking and AI technologies play in achieving supply chain transparency and optimising carbon reductions?
  • How can we empower and support SMEs to manage and reduce their emissions?

Dialogue: Scaling solutions for industrial decarbonisation

14:5515:15 BST

The industrial sector is currently responsible for nearly one-third of global carbon emissions. To tackle the climate crisis and reach net-zero emissions by 2050, it is imperative that we remove emissions from industrial operations. This session will look at the transformative solutions that are shaping decarbonisation of these energy intensive industries.

  • What are the bright spots and key breakthroughs that we are seeing in the delivery of clean industry?
  • How can we enhance collaboration to accelerate innovations for the sector?
  • How can we scale carbon management to the gigatons required?

Dialogue: Standards, frameworks and reporting: building a credible path to net zero

15:1515:35 BST

As net zero commitments grow, so does the scrutiny around how progress is measured and reported. Credible, transparent standards and frameworks are essential to ensure accountability and prevent greenwashing. This session discusses how robust reporting can build trust, drive action, and align efforts across sectors on the path to net zero.

  • How can we respond to these shifts and ensure businesses embed disclosure into their strategies to delivery credibility and competitive advantage, not just compliance?
  • How can businesses streamline their disclosures to align with multiple standards like ESRS, GRI and ISSB while ensuring consistency and reducing duplication?
  • What are the key steps to building a credible and transparent reporting system that effectively communicates progress toward net-zero goals?
