Mobilising the innovation ecosystem to facilitate concrete climate action at COP30

The COP30 Presidency has placed implementation at the center of its vision and has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing a Global Mutirão (collective action) against climate change, calling all stakeholders to act decisively in the face of climate urgency through an ambitious and integrated Action Agenda. The private sector plays a critical role in this Action Agenda – from developing climate-smart solutions and mobilising billions of finance, to embedding decarbonisation and resilience into their strategy, operations, and disclosure. In this context, COP30 must be more than just a conference among nations; it represents a major opportunity for the global mobilisation of companies, financial institutions, philanthropies, and other real economy actors that are instrumental in delivering the Paris Agreement and accelerating the transition to a low carbon, nature positive economy.

Against this backdrop, Climate Action will run two key platforms for private sector engagement at COP30: the Climate Action Innovation Zone and Climate Action House. These impactful convening spaces will help elevate and amplify the voices of non-state actors, share expertise and solutions, champion bold and brave leadership and facilitate cross sector collaboration:

Climate Action Innovation Zone
6-8 November
São Paulo

Returning to COP for the fifth year, the Innovation Zone will be a key platform for accelerating action and showcasing real world solutions ahead of COP30. Running for four days in Brazil’s economic capital, São Paulo, it will include four flagship events (Sustainable Innovation Forum, Hydrogen Transition Summit, Agri-Food Systems Summit and the Climate Implementation Summit), private events hosted by our partners, roundtables, dinners, networking receptions, a breakthrough pavilion, media hub and meeting spaces.

10–14 November
Belém

A collaborative hub in the heart of Belém running during COP30’s first week, with space for our partners to host solution-driven dialogues and networking activities. It will include a plenary room for 80 people, roundtable rooms, meeting spaces and first class catering options for hosted breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Established in 2007 and headquartered in London, Climate Action is an independent organisation committed to facilitating collaboration to accelerate the transition to a net zero, just and sustainable world. 

We run a series of industry-leading media and event platforms to help forge public-private-partnerships, bringing together CEOs, CSOs investors, politicians and city leaders to scale impact and deliver real change on the ground. Our impact-driven events include the Sustainable Innovation Forum (alongside COP), Sustainable Investment Forums (in New York and Paris), and the Climate Innovation Forum (in London).

We have a long history of successfully hosting events alongside the UN COP Negotiations having run the Sustainable Innovation Forum since COP16 in 2010. The Innovation Zone was launched at COP26 in Glasgow and returned to COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh. This was the 3rd edition of the Climate Action Innovation Zone, running between 04-08 December 2023 alongside COP28 in Dubai.
